Cookie
COOKIE is a pretty little Maine Coon mix who came to Magicats almost starved and very pregnant after her dysfunctional human family disintegrated.  She's not quite two years old.  Thanks to our caring veterinarians and super loving foster care, she successfully raised four great kittens who have all found wonderful FOREVER homes.  Because of her previous circumstances, she had a hard pregnancy during which she suffered from a serious viral infection that could not be effectively treated until her kittens were weaned.  After that, she had great veterinary care including a rather lengthy hospitalization under medication and observation and she has recovered well.  However, the infection has left her with a permanent sinus condition that will need lifelong monitoring.

After leaving the hospital, she has been fostering in a warm, loving home with other kitties and great food.  She's gained weight and is currently managing the sinus problem well. As she gets healthier, her coat is thickening and the Maine Coon ancestry is beginning to show.  Cookie gets along well with other cats, doesn't know much about dogs, has met a few children but likes them older rather than younger.

She's negative for FIV/FELV, and has had her surgery and all her shots for a year.  Cookie definitely needs to be an INSIDE ONLY kitty in a home with an attentive, loving cat person owner who can recognize the sinus symptoms and treat them appropriately. She'll need a good scratching post, a clean litter box, a few toys, and a great lap for watching television and engaging in long conversations.

If you'd like to meet a lovely young lady who just needs a little extra help, please e-mail us and we'll arrange a meet-and-greet.  Meantime, she will continue in her loving foster home. (All medical and diagnostic information will be available to Cookie's new person upon adoption.)
